Pu'er

Pu’er, originating from the Yunnan province in China, is a unique type of fermented tea known for its distinct taste and aging potential. There are two main types: raw (sheng) and ripe (shou). Raw Pu’er undergoes a natural fermentation process over several years, resulting in a complex flavor profile that evolves over time. Ripe Pu’er, on the other hand, undergoes an accelerated fermentation process, which produces a rich, mellow flavor more quickly. Both types of Pu’er are prized for their potential health benefits, including aiding digestion and weight loss, and they can be stored and aged like fine wines, increasing in value and flavor complexity with time.
