Mangfei Pu’er Tea

Harvested in Autumn 2022, this Mangfei Pu’er is named after “the mountain in the valley” in the language of the Dai minority people. Located in Lincang, Yunnan, Mangfei is one of the top four tea mountains in the region, alongside Bingdao, Xigui, and Daxueshan.

Mangfei is celebrated for its cooling, mildly astringent profile. The dry leaves are dark green with an oily sheen, giving off a strong, wild forest aroma. The tea broth is a light yellow, thick and full in texture. The flavor is remarkable—initial infusions are fresh and robust, with a touch of bitterness and astringency that quickly gives way to a deepening sweetness with hui gan that grows with each brew.

After about four infusions, a satisfying sweetness emerges, and a lingering “sheng jin” effect leaves a refreshing sensation that can last up to four hours.
