Golden Snail 2024 FengQing DianHong Black Tea

This unusual curled-up looking Black tea is made from Yunnan large-leaf type tea in Fengqing, Lingcang. It is inspired by the tea-making process of Biluochun (a very famous green tea from Jiangsu) by rolling the leaves up into small circles, giving it a “snail look” appearance. The farmers in Lincang named this tea the “Golden Snail” due to its shape and the tea hairs that cover the entire tea.

To form this unique tea, only the tender part of the bud is used, which contains the most inner substance, leaving this tea on the sweeter side of teas. Brewing this tea will turn the broth into a beautiful golden-brown color, and a sweet aroma of honey and sweet potato will appear instantly as well. Sipping this tea will taste sweet with a smooth feeling that will cover every part of your mouth, giving you a very satisfying experience.

Although this tea is sweet, it is not overwhelming at all; rather, the sweetness is on the milder side. Perfect to drink throughout the day, we tend to drink this tea more for a relaxing day in the evenings. However, it is just as fitting for the morning.
