Broken White 2023 Fujian White Tea

Broken White, as the name suggests, features tea leaves broken in half. Initially, we thought this was a delivery issue, but the farmer informed us that it’s his preferred method. Despite not being the highest quality, this tea offers a unique richness with its unusual sweetness and instant sheng jin. The tea leaves are harvested from shrub-type tea trees, typically mellow, but this one has a slightly thicker taste compared to typical white teas, which is very unusual for shrub-type tea trees.

The tea broth carries a floral and grassy aroma, leaning towards sweetness rather than being “too” mellow. The first sip is refreshing, followed by an almost immediate shen jing, and the hui gan is strong and lasts for quite a while.

This tea is suitable for most people who enjoy mellow teas but prefer a bit more taste with a refreshing feeling.
