Wild Leaf FengQing DianHong Black Tea

$15.50$558.00

Wild Leaf is an extraordinary tea from China, sourced from one of Fengqing’s oldest wild-growing trees, estimated to be between 300-400 years old. Unlike the famous Dian Hong that Fengqing is renowned for, Wild Leaf stands out due to its natural growth in a primeval forest setting, enhancing its unique character. This tea, distinct from conventional black teas, showcases exceptional qualities owing to its age and environment. Notably, wild-grown tea trees are notably hairless, setting them apart from cultivated counterparts.

This tea is perfect for those who don’t like overwhelming sweet and thick consistency tea or for those who are not fans of Pu’er type teas.

Wild Leaf has a thin consistency with a sweet and slightly bitter taste. It has a long-lasting strong aroma of fresh wood and roses. In Chinese, we describe it as “ye yun,” which means “the refreshing smell of walking into a forest or a mountain.” Our Wild Leaf also has a mild hui gan, which is odd because black teas mostly don’t have Hui Gan.

Note: All our black teas are freshly harvested in spring or autumn and sold yearly—never from last year’s stock. (See product description for harvest season.)
