Golden Silk FengQing DianHong Black Tea

Made from Yunnan large-leaf type tree in Fengqing, Lingcang, Yunnan. The taste of the tea is thick, smooth and sweet, with slight red date aroma.

What makes this Golden Silk so special? the secret lies in the harvesting technique. Normally when people pick tea leaves, they pick from the bud that is 2 leaves under the highest leaf in a branch, as it gives more yield. However, the Golden Silk leaves are taken only from the top leaf (including the bud), just for the appearance to be more enjoyable. Technically the bud contains more tea polyphenol than the leaf, so the taste and nutritional value should be slightly different.

The appearance of this tea when dried is soft and small, covered with golden tea hairs. Taste is strong yet smooth at the same time, if that makes sense. There’s also has a thickness layer to the tea, but what stands out most is the sweetness.

This tea is highly recommended for “sweet tooth” people, even kids and teenagers take a loving to this tea around China.
